KGSM, WNYC and NPR Present... Radio Lab

St. Peter, MN (KGSM News) KGSM radio is proud to announce it has finished conversations with WNYC and National Public Radio to air ten episodes of the series Radio Lab, a show about science, culture and the humanities.  The announcement came Thursday afternoon after conversations between WNYC and NPR finished allowing KGSM to air the episodes.  “The show is really the greatest thing happening in public radio these days,” said station manager Greg Boone, “we think it will compliment the activities and interests of the student body and the liberal arts mission of the College.”  The program, which explores big ideas relating to sleep, music, deception, and language, to name just a few of the many ideas explored by the show.  KGSM’s Evan Larkin and Emma Squire, co-hosts of Tons of Fun at 9:01, and hosts of Indie Rock at 9:00 and Must be the Moon, as well as Greg Boone and Matt Schueffner of Aural Fixation, will suspend their normal programming April 7th-20th to broadcast Radio Lab every weekday at 9:00PM starting April 7th.  After KGSM week Radio Lab will air every Wednesday at 10:00 after Aural Fixation for the rest of the semester.  Radio Lab’s new series, including the episode recorded live form the Fitzgerald Theater on the War of the Worlds that inspired KGSM’s January Term production, consists of 5 great episodes.  More information about Radio Lab including information on how to podcast the show can be found at radiolab.org.
