Update: we are having some technical difficulties, we hope to be up and running on schedule though.... Stay tuned to this site for more information.
I fixed the problem. I guess the order of the audio devices changed or something. At any rate, the stream is back up. Enjoy!
It looks like the maintenance didn't go as smoothly as I had expected. All I get from the stream is a high-pitched whine, and I can't get into the studio now, as it it 11:48 PM. I suppose it could be a problem with the computer playing the music, or it could be an audio driver bug (the maintenance included a kernel update to fix a rather nasty local root exploit). I will investigate as soon as I am able.
The stream will be down starting around 11:30 PM tonight (February 13th), as the server hosting it is in need of maintenance. The web site will also be down sometime in the near future for a major software upgrade. Another post will be made to announce the exact date of that upgrade. I will try to make all such upgrades as unobtrusive as possible.
Thanks to the fine work of our System Administrator, Alex Wauck, the stream is back and better than ever. All scheduled programs can continue broadcasting. Thank you all for your patience and we are sorry for the cancellations this week. Stay tuned to KGSM, "The Voice of Gustavus".
Do you use a calendar program like iCal, Outlook, etc.? If you do and want to know when to catch your favorite KGSM program, our entire on-air schedule is published to Gustavus' Calendar server. You can subscribe to the schedule online at webcal://calendar.gac.edu/calendar/gboone/onair.ics and find your favorite program.
On behalf of KGSM Radio and all the DJ's and staff of the organization, I extend our condolences to the friends and families of those affected by the recent bridge collapse in Minneapolis. We will be following this closely with relation to the investigations of the collapse and the safety of other bridges especially those in the St. Peter area. Until we get back on campus and our regular broadcast schedule again, we encourage you to stay tuned to Minnesota Public Radio for their ongoing coverage of this catastrophe. Also check back here for changes in programming related to this event.
